Everton are leading the race to sign Bristol Rovers record breaker Ollie Dewsbury, with the 18-year-old forward training with the club at Finch Farm this week. The teenager, who became the youngest player to represent the League Two side in the FA Cup, is also being tracked by Arsenal and Fulham.
Record-Breaking Debut
Dewsbury made his senior debut against Whitby Town in November 2023 at just 15 years old, becoming the second youngest player ever to represent Bristol Rovers. He has been with the club since the age of seven.
Loan Spells and Development
The Wales youth international has gained valuable experience through several loan spells. He scored six goals in 14 games for Yate Town and one in four for Taunton Town, leading to his recall. Last season, he made 12 appearances for Bristol Rovers before scoring three times in 21 games for Weston-Super-Mare in the National League South.
Everton's Academy Strategy
Should Everton complete the signing, Dewsbury would join a growing list of young talents brought in to bolster the club's academy ranks. Competition in the Under-21s would include Braiden Graham, Ceiran Loney, and former Arsenal youth player Omari Benjamin. The Blues have already signed promising 16-year-old forward Kai Hutchison from Dundee United this summer.
