Caribbean Island for Sale Cheaper Than London Flat

An entire Caribbean island has been put on the market for $30 million (£23 million), the same price as a flat in London's exclusive Knightsbridge area. Buck Island, one of the largest private islands in the Caribbean, spans 44 acres and lies just a minute by boat from Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands.

The island features cliffs soaring to 100 feet, a seawater pool with a coral floor, and a temperate climate ideal for year-round living, with summer temperatures ranging from 75°F to 90°F and winters from 70°F to 84°F. Accommodation includes a main house with natural stone walls, a family room, dining room seating 14, a bar, kitchen, library, and two en suite bedrooms with open-air showers and balconies. A tower with a circular balcony offers 360-degree views of the surrounding seas.

Additional properties include a master villa with a 180-degree balcony and conference room, two private villas sharing a kitchen and dining room, and two guest cottages. On Tortola island, 200 yards away, there is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom gated home called Bar Bay House, plus the Annex Staff Quarter with four bedrooms. The island also boasts a beach house with lounge, dining area, kitchen, and four showers, as well as a boat house stocked with kayaks, sailing boats, and dinghies.

The island includes a helipad and a protected bay capable of anchoring superyachts up to 200 feet long. London is reachable via connecting flights from Tortola's airport in about 13 and a half hours. Buck Island is listed for sale with Grenadine Island Villas.
