Boots has slashed the price of YSL Black Opium Extreme Eau de Parfum by 50 per cent in its Black Friday sale, offering the 50ml bottle for £51—a saving of £51 off the RRP. The deal is part of the retailer's 'Star Gifts' range and is the cheapest available, compared to £60 at The Perfume Shop and £102 at Superdrug.
Launched in 2021, Black Opium Extreme is described as an 'intense' and 'bold' interpretation of the original scent. It features notes of extra-black coffee, ultra-white flowers, patchouli, pear, mandarin, cherry, orange blossom, jasmine and tonka bean. The fragrance boasts a glittery black bottle with a black core, said to 'highlight unbridled mystery'.
The perfume has earned a 4.8 out of 5 rating from Boots shoppers, with a 91 per cent recommendation rate. One reviewer commented: 'It lingers on the skin longer and is more deep or as the name says “intense”—definitely recommend.' Another said: 'Classy, bold and expensive... it's my absolute favourite.'
Shoppers praised its versatility for day and night wear, with one noting: 'During the day, it gives off a light and airy vibe, while at night, it becomes more sensual and seductive.' However, a few preferred the original Black Opium, describing Extreme as better suited for nights out.
Boots' Black Friday sale also includes up to 50 per cent off other perfumes, while Superdrug and Debenhams are offering discounts on fragrances such as Ari by Ariana Grande and Flash by Jimmy Choo.
