The supermarket giant announced the immediate recall after discovering possible traces of Listeria monocytogenes in specific batches of the popular plant-based product. This bacteria can cause serious illness, particularly in vulnerable groups including pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The recall affects Plant Chef Garlic and Herb alternative to soft cheese with a 300g size and specific use-by dates. Customers who have purchased products with the following codes should return them immediately:

What Customers Should Do
Tesco has advised all customers who have purchased the affected product to return it to their nearest store for a full refund. No receipt is required for the return.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has confirmed the recall and emphasized the importance of heeding the warning. Symptoms of listeriosis include high temperature, aches and pains, chills, feeling or being sick, and diarrhea.
