
A terrifying daylight robbery in Perth's southern suburb of Beckenham has left a teenage boy injured and the community on edge. Western Australia Police are appealing for witnesses after the violent attack unfolded near a local retail store.
Violent Daylight Attack
The incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Tuesday when the 16-year-old victim was approached by two unknown males near the intersection of Albany Highway and William Street. According to police reports, the assailants demanded the teenager's belongings before physically assaulting him.
Police Investigation Underway
WA Police have confirmed they are treating this as a serious assault and robbery case. Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Higgins stated: "This was a brazen attack in a busy area during daylight hours. We're urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward immediately."
Community Shocked by Brazen Crime
Local residents have expressed their shock at the violent nature of the crime occurring in what is normally considered a safe neighbourhood. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Suspect Description
Police have released descriptions of the two suspects:
- Suspect 1: Caucasian male, approximately 180cm tall, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants
- Suspect 2: Mixed-race male, approximately 175cm tall, wearing a blue jacket and white sneakers
