The Tassimo by Bosch Suny 'Special Edition' Pod Coffee Machine has dropped to £29.99 on Amazon, down from £39.99, offering a budget-friendly way to make café-style drinks at home. The machine has been praised by shoppers for making a 'cracking good brew' and is designed for straightforward use with one-button operation.
Features and drink options
Simply pop in a Tassimo pod and press start, while the machine's Intellibrew technology reads the barcode on each drink pod and automatically adjusts the settings for the drink. There's also no lengthy heat-up time to wait for.
Shoppers can choose from more than 50 drinks, including Costa lattes and cappuccinos, as well as Cadbury hot chocolate and coffees from a range of well-known brands. The compact machine is designed to fit neatly on a kitchen worktop, while an automatic cleaning function runs between drinks to help prevent flavours mixing. It also switches itself off when not in use.
Alternative options
If this isn't the one for everyone, there is the Living and Home Mini Portable Espresso Coffee Machine, which has been dropped to £59.20 from £68 on Yimbly - an online marketplace owned by this site's parent company, Reach Plc. This one is said to ensure that every cup of coffee boasts 'outstanding taste and consistent quality', and it features both a semi-automatic cold and hot dual extraction system, along with 11 temperature settings.
Another option is the Lakeland Digital To Go Filter Coffee Machine with Travel Mug for £39.99 on Lakeland. It can brew a single mug of fresh coffee and is said to be perfect for 'grab-and-go brews'.
Shopper reviews
The Tassimo by Bosch coffee machine has been rated a high 4.5 out of five stars from more than 19,000 reviews on Amazon, however. It is also listed as an Amazon's Choice product.
One person said: "Good coffee - made easy. Absolutely brilliant machine. It took me a while to learn how to make a proper cup of decent coffee but, once I got the hang of it, then I found it very easy to use and master. The machine is a lot easier and takes up a lot less space on the worktop than my other big all singing, all dancing machine, which I was attempting to use before this one arrived. The other one looks like it should be in a coffee house. It was complicated. This machine is ideal for elderly people like myself and single people, too. It makes a cracking good brew and the price is reasonable."
Another added: "I missed a coffee machine and liked the look of this one. I'm so glad I purchased it. The water tank is great and it's not really noisy. My latte came out perfect, hot and delicious. It makes coffee fast, so I'm happy. Also, it's so easy to use, one button and you're done."
A third wrote: "After two-and-a-half years, (it's) still working as new. Coffee is ready in a few seconds, descale once or twice a year, what more can I ask for? Good product for sure."
Some people disagreed slightly, as one said: "It's okay, easy to use, I've never used this brand before. I have noticed that a lot of steam appears at the end of dispensing, and I have never experienced that with previous machines the way this one lets off steam."
Another added: "Took a bit of trial and error to get going, but now it's making a lovely cup of coffee. The only downside is the pods are a bit pricey."
The Tassimo by Bosch coffee machine is available from Amazon.
