Food enthusiasts across Australia are in for a treat as a wildly popular secret menu item makes a dramatic comeback. The 'Rais'n Grill'd' dipping sauce, Grill'd's own take on the iconic condiment from American chain Raising Cane's, has returned to stores after selling out in a frenzy last month.
The Secret Sauce Procedure Returns
Just as before, obtaining this coveted sauce requires insider knowledge. The condiment is not listed on any official menu or the website. To secure it, customers must order a three or five pack of Chicken Tenders and then utter the magic words 'Rais'n Grill'd' at the register. If successful, their standard dip will be upgraded to the special sauce at no extra charge, subject to limited stock.
This hush-hush promotion first caused a stir in early December when it was quietly introduced for under two weeks. Social media was quickly divided between triumphant posts from those who secured the sauce and lamentations from those who missed out. Due to overwhelming demand, Grill'd has now relaunched the offering nationwide from January 6, though it remains a strictly limited-time opportunity.
Inspired by a US Cult Favourite
The sauce is inspired by the signature dip from Raising Cane's, a Louisiana-based fast-food chain founded in 1996 that is famed almost exclusively for its chicken fingers and this accompanying sauce. Described as creamy, tangy, and with a slight kick, the exact recipe is a closely guarded secret in the US, though it is widely believed to contain a blend of mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Grill'd's Head of Marketing, Emily Clifton-Bligh, stated the decision to bring it back was simple. "After it sold out so fast, we knew we had to bring it back so more of our customers could try the pairing everyone was talking about," she said. Clifton-Bligh added that the team was "blown away by the excitement" in December and had heeded "the calls from Aussies to bring back this limited-edition fave."
A Social Media Sensation
The sauce's initial success was heavily driven by social media, with food creators sharing their taste tests and experiences of the secret ordering process. This buzz transformed the Rais'n Grill'd sauce into a must-try item, demonstrating the powerful influence of viral food trends and exclusive promotions in the modern dining scene. For now, the hunt is back on for savvy customers willing to try their luck with the secret codeword before stocks vanish once more.
