Ryanair has issued a series of alerts to passengers, including a reminder that "bad behaviour won't fly," as the budget carrier slashes flight prices to celebrate its 41st birthday. The airline, known for its no-frills travel options and cheeky social media presence, shared multiple Instagram posts on Thursday. One post urged passengers not to wander the aircraft, play videos out loud without headphones, or leave litter behind. Another listed "Ryanair red cards," jokingly including flying in jeans, going barefoot, clapping upon landing, asking about Wi-Fi, and hogging both armrests.
Birthday Sale Offers Flights from £14.99
To mark its 41st year of operation since 1985, Ryanair is offering substantial discounts on selected flights. Passengers must book by Sunday, July 19, to secure savings on flights between now and October 31, 2026. Fares start from £14.99, covering destinations such as Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza, Malaga, Berlin, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Bremen, Castellon, Eindhoven, Nantes, and Zadar.
Digital-Only Boarding Passes Now Mandatory
Ryanair reminded travellers that it has transitioned to 100% digital boarding passes via its app, eliminating paper passes since November 2025. The move aims to reduce costs, improve service, streamline rebooking, and save 300 tonnes of paper annually. Online check-in opens 60 days before departure for passengers with allocated seats, or 24 hours prior for those accepting complimentary seat assignments. The check-in window closes two hours before scheduled take-off. After completing online check-in, travellers must keep a digital copy of their boarding pass handy. Those who fail to check in online will incur an airport check-in fee of £55 (or equivalent in euros). Passengers without a smartphone or tablet can obtain a free boarding pass from Ryanair, provided they have completed online check-in before arriving at the airport. Ryanair will send a reminder to check in online shortly before departure.
