Office, the leading fashion footwear specialist, has officially opened its largest ever store in Scotland at Glasgow Fort. The new flagship is double the size of its previous 2,249 sq. ft unit, now spanning 5,012 sq. ft.
New Flagship Store Details
Located next to Deichmann, BPerfect, and River Island, the newly revamped store welcomed customers on July 16. To celebrate, a live in-store DJ performed on Saturday, playing classic tunes from over the decades.
The Office flagship offers an extensive collection of footwear, trainers, and accessories. Major brands on the shelves include ASICS, Birkenstock, and UGG, alongside new collections.
Shopper and Management Reactions
Glasgow Fort teased the opening on social media, posting: "POV: Scotland’s biggest OFFICE store just opened. Head down this opening weekend for celebrations with a live DJ from 10am–4pm on Saturday." One excited shopper who visited early said: "Popped into there yesterday, a lot bigger. It's lovely!"
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, stated: "OFFICE choosing Glasgow Fort for its new flagship store is a real show of confidence in the centre and everything it has to offer. We know our visitors take shopping for footwear seriously, so we’re excited to be bringing them a bigger and better OFFICE experience, with more of the brands and styles they love."
Company Background and Recent Trends
Founded in 1981, Office now operates 86 stores across the UK and Ireland. It is currently owned by South African clothing retailer Truworths.
This is the second time a major brand has opened a huge flagship in Glasgow Fort. In October 2025, River Island relocated to a 13,616 sq. ft unit, its largest in Scotland, featuring interactive fitting rooms and self-checkouts. The shopping centre itself has plans for a 60,000 sq. ft expansion, including a bowling alley, arcade, and an upscaled M&S flagship.
Meanwhile, JD Sports unveiled its largest Scottish store in Livingston's The Centre last week, measuring 15,500 sq. ft, offering brands like Nike, adidas, ASICS, New Balance, and Montirex.
