Marks & Spencer is trialling a significant overhaul of its Sparks loyalty scheme, introducing exclusive discounts for members in 49 food halls across the UK, including locations in the West Midlands, South Wales, and the North East of England. The move mirrors similar schemes by Tesco and Sainsbury's, offering lower prices on selected products.
During the two-week pilot, Sparks members can access reduced prices by scanning their card at checkout. Deals include the Barbecue Heroes meal deal for £10 instead of £12, and the Chicken Delux Family dine-in offer for £13 down from £15.
An M&S spokesperson stated: 'In 2020 we relaunched Sparks as a digital-first loyalty scheme and in three years have almost doubled the number of Sparks members to more than 16 million - rewarding them with personalised offers, special treats, and thankyou. We're always innovating and trialling different ways to reward members.'
The trial follows similar initiatives by Sainsbury's and Co-op, with Tesco having pioneered Clubcard Prices in 2019. M&S's Sparks app already offers instant rewards and personalised offers, including free Percy Pig sweets and a chance to win free shopping each week.
