M&S Opens 80,000 sq ft Bristol Flagship with Biggest Ever Beauty
M&S Opens New 80,000 sq ft Bristol Flagship Store

In a major boost for Bristol's retail scene, Marks & Spencer has flung open the doors to its spectacular new flagship store at Cabot Circus. This marks a triumphant return to the city centre for the retail giant, which first established a presence in Bristol over a century ago.

A Grand Return to the Heart of Bristol

The new 80,000 sq ft store spans three impressive floors, offering shoppers the full M&S experience. The expansive space houses the retailer's complete range, including food, fashion, homeware, and a beauty department that sets a new benchmark for the brand.

Ali Ivery, Regional Manager at M&S, expressed his delight at the opening: "We have a long history here in Bristol, dating back to 1900, and so it is brilliant to be back today." He also highlighted the significant investment in the city and the creation of over 150 new jobs as a result of the new store.

Inside the Three-Floor Retail Destination

Shoppers can navigate a carefully curated selection of products across the store's multiple levels:

  • Lower Ground Floor: This level is dedicated to food, featuring a full M&S Foodhall and a cafe that is already serving the new festive menu. Highlights include the innovative Yorkshire Pudding Wrap and the Christmas tree ginger cake.
  • Fashion & Beauty Floors: Across two floors, customers will find M&S's own popular clothing brands alongside a vastly expanded beauty hall. The company confirms this is its biggest ever in-store beauty offer, covering nearly 3,000 sq ft and featuring third-party giants like Estee Lauder and Clinique. The latest Jaeger womenswear and partywear collections are also available.
  • Upper Level: This floor caters to menswear, showcasing the latest Autograph collection and a range of suits, as well as a dedicated kidswear section with daywear essentials and festive outfits.

Significant Investment and Community Impact

The opening is a key part of M&S's wider store renewal programme, being one of over 20 new or renewed stores launching in the second half of this financial year. Another flagship, Bath Southgate, is scheduled to open in February.

The launch was met with immense public enthusiasm. Paul O’Brien, Director of Leasing at Hammerson, which owns Cabot Circus, noted: "With queues of customers snaking around Cabot Circus, we know this retail giant will be a major boost to the destination and the city more generally." He confirmed that M&S was the number one most requested brand by their customers.

This new flagship not only revitalises M&S's physical presence in Bristol but also solidifies Cabot Circus as a premier shopping destination, promising a vibrant retail experience for the community.
