Marks and Spencer shoppers have found a £30 solution for 'dry, crepey' skin that 'blurs imperfections', making it ideal for those wanting to wear shorts, skirts and dresses this season. The PRAI Ageless Leg Perfecting Serum, stocked at M&S, has drawn praise from customers who say it boosts confidence to show their legs.
What the serum offers
The product comes from PRAI, a brand known for its bestselling Ageless Throat and Decolletage Crème, which earned it the nickname 'NeckXperts'. The new leg serum combines immediate cosmetic results with skincare ingredients that work over time. It contains Syn-Coll peptides to boost collagen production, Sepilift to enhance elasticity, and hyaluronic acid, PRAI oil and grape seed oil to moisturise, soften and offer antioxidant protection.
Unlike conventional body makeup or fake tan, the serum uses light-reflecting mica and iron oxides to deliver an instant, natural-looking luminosity. The tint is temporary, flatters all skin tones and rinses off in the shower, making it suitable for weddings, summer holidays and special occasions.
Shopper reactions
PRAI's consumer trial involving 26 women found that 73% observed a more uniform leg tone straight after application, while 81% reported feeling confident to show their legs following use, compared with 12.5% beforehand. Initial reviews on the M&S website have been encouraging, with one customer commenting: "I am so impressed by this leg serum. It makes my legs look really glowing and hydrated, I've lost the dry, crepey-looking skin on my shins, and there's no need to fake tan. It is so easy to use."
A 75-year-old shopper remarked: "Super for creating a healthy look on the skin. I am 75 and have many blemishes and find this just gives a subtle coverage and is in no way orange." Another wrote: "This is such a helpful product for when you want to wear a summer dress or pair of shorts but don't feel summer-ready. It instantly gave my legs a glowy tint of colour, while leaving my skin soft and smooth. I've used it on my arms and cheekbones too, as a pretty highlighter. I've used it daily in the UK and also packed it on my holidays to NYC and Italy - from the city to the coast, it's an absolute summer essential."
Mixed reviews and value
Some customers were less impressed with the consistency, awarding it four stars. One commented: "I liked the instant natural colour it gave to my skin and the streak free regular finish. It certainly blurred imperfections. I haven't noticed any colour transfer on my clothes. The 4* was that I found the texture to be a bit heavy compared to smooth body moisturisers. I didn't get that luxurious feel. Having said that, I liked the finished look and will be buying more."
A five-star review stated: "Hate my legs so thought I'd give it a try, very impressed. Good coverage, nice colour and goes on well. Prefer it to gradual tan as I don't get awful brown knees. Feel like I could wear shorts now." One loyal customer, who regularly uses the brand's neck cream, noted: "I have used other Prai products, particularly the neck cream, for many years, which I rate as excellent, so I was very interested to try this. I've found it really good for improving the look of the skin in my legs, lifting the colour just enough and blurring imperfections."
The serum retails for £30 at M&S, less than the This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle at £45 for an equivalent-sized tube. At Boots, the Vita Liberata Body Blur Light retails at £33 for 100ml.
