Jeremy Sumpter, who played Peter Pan in the 2003 film at the age of 14, is now 37 and a father, with fans saying he is unrecognisable from his Neverland days.
From Neverland to leading roles
More than 20 years have passed since Sumpter first took on the role of one of the world's most famous fictional characters. He was just 14 when he landed the part, quickly becoming a recognisable face to a generation of young fans.
His career continued after leaving Neverland, with roles across film and television including appearances in Into the Storm and Sisters of the Groom, as well as more recent projects such as Miami Nights and Alterity.
Fans react to new look
On Instagram, Sumpter recently shared an updated photo of himself wearing a cowboy hat, prompting praise from fans. One user said: "Hi Jeremy, you're still handsome. I remember Peter Pan a lot, your gaze is still the same. Wishing you much success." Another added: "Cowboy now?" A third user said: "Thought you were never supposed to grow up. Ugh, love you."
Keeping the magic alive
Despite moving on from his Peter Pan days, Sumpter still has a soft spot for the role. He continues to connect with fans through Cameo, where people can request personalised videos, and regularly looks back on his time as Peter Pan on social media.
Sharing a post on Instagram, he wrote: "Just a reminder that anyone who books a Cameo will get a signed personalised Peter Pan photo! And later this week one of you will get my signed Peter Pan script! Time for someone else to cherish this as I have for so many years! Love yall!"
The post prompted nostalgic reactions from fans. One user said: "I loved this movie. One of my favorite Peter Pan movies." Another added: "You are my only Peter Pan! I still remember to this day some of the dialogues from the movie! I’ve watched it too many times when I was a kid!" A third user said: "Oh, I’ve always dreamed of getting an autograph from Jeremy. I’ve always been a huge fan of that movie. I know all the lines by heart. I love it so much! To this day, I cherish my Peter Pan DVD."
Family life and personal passions
Sumpter married Elizabeth Treadway in Columbia, Tennessee, in October 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April the following year. He has shared snippets of family life on social media, including a home video showing his niece painting his nails while dressed in a princess costume, and another clip of his daughter in a ballerina outfit.
Away from acting, Sumpter has spoken about his love of horses. In one social media post, he wrote: "I’m a blessed man. An actor, a horse cutter, a horse lover, a father, a girl dad. This video represents what happiness looks like for me. Love all of yall. Thanks for sticking with me over all the years!"
