McDonald's has confirmed a significant shake-up to its UK menu, with one classic children's item being permanently removed. The fast-food giant is discontinuing its Fish Fingers Happy Meal, citing insufficient customer demand.
What's Leaving the McDonald's Menu?
The company announced on Wednesday 26 November 2025 that the Fish Fingers Happy Meal would be axed after failing to attract enough sales. This decision forms part of a broader menu overhaul that also sees the removal of Fish Bites from adult offerings.
According to McDonald's, the item simply "was not selling in sufficient numbers" to justify its continued place on the menu, leading to its eventual discontinuation.
New Happy Meal Options Arrive
Replacing the departed favourite are two new Happy Meal choices designed to appeal to younger palates. The McFish Happy Meal offers a similar fish experience to the popular Filet-O-Fish burger but comes without tartar sauce.
Additionally, McDonald's is introducing a Mayo Chicken Happy Meal, providing another alternative for children and families seeking variety in their meal options.
Christmas Menu Launch Coincides With Changes
These Happy Meal revisions coincide with the launch of McDonald's highly anticipated Christmas menu. Festive offerings include the Double Big Tasty and Cheesy Chicken Stack for those seeking heartier options.
The chain is also rolling out a Grinch-themed festive range, adding seasonal cheer to its restaurants nationwide. This combination of menu changes represents one of the most significant updates to McDonald's UK offerings in recent months.
Customers can expect these changes to take effect immediately across all participating McDonald's locations throughout the United Kingdom.
