McDonald's customers are rushing to try a newly discovered app trick that reportedly allows them to order free dipping sauce pots without purchasing any food. The method, shared on TikTok by money-saving expert Jordon Cox – known as Coupon Kid UK – has gone viral, with one user claiming to have obtained 37 sauce pots at no cost.
How the Hack Works
In a video posted to his TikTok account, Cox demonstrated the process. He explained that within the McDonald's app, under the 'dips' section, customers can add individual sauce pots to their order for free. The trick works for selected sauces including ketchup, barbecue sauce, and sweet curry dip. Cox stated the app allows users to add up to 37 of each sauce type without needing to buy any food item. He tested the hack by adding 10 sauces to an order and confirmed that the order goes through even if only sauces are selected.
Cox said: “If you need more ketchup, BBQ or sweet curry dip for your fridge – don't buy it at the supermarket. Go onto the McDonald's app – under the 'dips' section of the menu, you can add little pots of sauce to your order for free. In fact it lets you add up to 37 of each sauce to your order. And you don't need to buy anything with it – the order goes through even if you just order sauce, and nothing else.”
Reaction and Implications
The clip quickly attracted attention on social media, with many McDonald's enthusiasts eager to take advantage of the apparent loophole. One user commented: “Saving this for my next McDonald's run.” Another predicted: “Yeah McDonald's is going to shut this down pronto.” Cox himself acknowledged the potential for embarrassment, adding: “Although if you want to save embarrassment, you might want to order something else with it!” He presented the hack as a way to avoid spending money on bottled sauces in supermarkets, noting: “The days of spending £4 on a small bottle of sauce are gone my friends.”
This is the latest money-saving tip from Cox, who has built a large online following by revealing lesser-known methods for shoppers to reduce expenses. The hack has sparked debate about whether McDonald's will close the loophole, but for now, customers are stocking up on free sauces.
