Shoppers Gutted as Shein's First UK Store Turns Out to Be Pop-Up

A woman visiting Shein's first physical store on London's Oxford Street has left shoppers disappointed after revealing it is only a temporary pop-up. Shivani Khosla queued for 20 minutes to explore the store, but soon discovered it would only be open for a few days.

In a TikTok video, Khosla said: 'I thought this was a permanent store but, apparently, it's only a pop up. It's here until Sunday, so you don't have long.' The store, which opened on Friday, September 27, closed on Sunday, September 28.

Despite the short opening, Khosla found some bargains, including earrings for £2, a jacket for £47.99, and another jacket for £24. She noted that prices were similar to online, with a 30% discount available in-store. The pop-up also featured a dedicated Missguided section, following Shein's acquisition of the brand in late 2023.

Shoppers expressed frustration online, with one commenting: 'Oh wait, it leaves on Sunday.' Another said: 'Aww, I can't go.' However, others praised the store, calling it 'beautiful' and 'amazing.' The pop-up followed a successful similar event in 2023, leaving many hoping for a permanent store in the future.
