Evri, the prominent parcel delivery and logistics company, has announced a substantial expansion of its locker network through strategic new partnerships with major retailers Tesco and Motor Fuel Group (MFG). This initiative will see Evri lockers installed at 30 Tesco supermarkets and 500 MFG petrol station sites across the United Kingdom, marking a significant enhancement in the firm's delivery infrastructure.
Strategic Partnerships Drive Network Growth
The collaboration with Tesco and MFG forms a core part of Evri's ambitious plan to more than double its existing network of ParcelShops and lockers. Currently, the company operates over 11,000 locations nationwide, including services available in Post Office branches and Asda stores. This latest expansion builds on that foundation, aiming to provide greater convenience and flexibility for customers in their parcel collection and return routines.
Enhancing Customer Convenience
Evri lockers are designed to address common delivery concerns, such as missed parcels during events like Mother's Day. They offer QR code access and print-at-locker capabilities, allowing customers to securely collect or return packages at their convenience. Liam Rogan, Head of ParcelShop and Locker Network at Evri, emphasized the company's commitment to reliable delivery methods, stating, "By partnering with Tesco and Motor Fuel Group to launch our lockers, we're making sure that shoppers don't leave it to luck when it comes to their parcel deliveries."
Investment and Innovation
This expansion follows Evri's recent announcement of a £50 million investment to more than double its ParcelShop and locker estate by 2030. The company has partnered with smart-tech specialist Bloq.it to develop the new lockers, commissioning at least 1,000 units. Unlike shared third-party lockers, these will be operated exclusively by the Yorkshire-based firm, ensuring consistent service quality.
Retailer Perspectives
Tesco expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, "We're constantly looking for ways to make the shopping trip even more convenient for our customers." Similarly, MFG highlighted the synergy between the brands, stating, "With the rollout of Evri's lockers across 500 Motor Fuel Group sites, this new partnership brings together two brands focused on everyday convenience. Together we're able to give customers greater flexibility to send, collect and return parcels as part of their regular routines."
Locations and Accessibility
The new lockers will be installed at select Tesco supermarkets, including locations in Bolton, Barrow in Furness, Ashby De La Zouch, and Wolverhampton, among others. MFG sites will feature lockers at petrol stations in areas such as Borehamwood, Halifax, Edinburgh, and Birmingham. Customers can locate their nearest ParcelShop or locker via the Evri website at www.evri.com/find-a-parcelshop.
This expansion not only enhances Evri's service offerings but also reinforces its role in supporting local communities by integrating parcel services into everyday retail and fuel station visits. As delivery demands continue to grow, such initiatives aim to provide reliable and accessible solutions for consumers across the UK.
