Dunkin' Donuts Launches Protein Milk to Rival Starbucks

Dunkin' Donuts has introduced a new Protein Milk option, joining the protein drink trend months after Starbucks launched its own protein-based menu. Starting Wednesday, customers can add the special milk to any drink, providing 15 grams of protein per medium-sized beverage. The company says the milk offers a creamy taste without a chalky texture or aftertaste.

To promote the launch, Dunkin' collaborated with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who appears as her alter ego 'Pro-Tina' in an ad called 'Dunk N' Pump.' The campaign features a drink named after her, Megan's Mango Protein Refresher, alongside other new items such as Strawberry Protein Refresher, Caramel Chocolate Iced Protein Latte, Almond Iced Protein Matcha Latte, and Iced Protein Latte with Sugar-Free Vanilla.

Jill Nelson, chief marketing officer at Dunkin', said in a statement: 'We saw protein milk as a natural way to give our guests more flexibility in how they enjoy the Dunkin' menu throughout the day.' She added that the milk tastes great across coffee, lattes, and refreshers without altering the flavors customers love.

Starbucks introduced its own protein-packed drinks in September, including Protein Lattes and Cold Foam Drinks with up to 36 grams of protein per medium drink. Customers can also add Protein Cold Foam or Protein-Boosted Milk to their coffee for extra protein.
