Celtic are reportedly ready to go 'all out' to bring in Kieron Bowie from Hellas Verona this summer, according to Corriere di Verona. The Scottish champions are also said to have submitted a bid for Egypt's World Cup hero Haissem Hassan, as reported by The Daily Star.
Bowie pursuit intensifies
After Hellas Verona were relegated last season, Serie A clubs have been circling the former Hibernian frontman, who cost the Italian side £5.5 million in January. The Scotland international impressed despite his club dropping out of the top flight, scoring goals against Inter Milan, Juventus, Torino, and Bologna.
While Verona boss Marco Baroni has reportedly told club chiefs that the 23-year-old is too important to sell this summer, Celtic are said to be undeterred. Corriere di Verona claim that the Hoops are preparing a bumper bid to compete with Bologna, who are said to be in 'pole position' to land Bowie. A return to Scotland is tempting for the striker, as Celtic can offer him the opportunity to compete in European competition.
Price tag set at £13 million
Verona have reportedly slapped a £13 million price tag on Bowie in a bid to keep the striker amid intense interest. Celtic are preparing to meet that valuation to secure his signature.
Haissem Hassan bid submitted
Celtic have submitted a bid for Egypt's World Cup hero Haissem Hassan, according to The Daily Star. Hassan's release clause has tumbled following Real Oviedo's relegation, but the Scottish champions appear to have gone in lower than the expected fee. Hassan can now be had for £10 million, down from his previous exit fee of £16 million, but it is understood Real Oviedo will do business way below that, with Hassan linked to Glasgow and Saudi Arabia for a fee of around £4 million.
Fondo Seguna report that an initial £3.4 million offer has been put on the table for the wide man, which is now being 'considered' by the Spanish second-tier side.
