Premium Scottish Furniture Firm Bliss Beds Opens New Aberdeen Store
Bliss Beds Opens New Store in Aberdeen Shopping Centre

Bliss Beds, a family-run Scottish furniture firm, has relocated its only Aberdeen store to the Bon Accord Shopping Centre, opening its doors at 10am on July 6 with special offers on sofas and mattresses.

New Location Details

The store was previously located in the former Superdrug unit at the Trinity Centre, between Clintons and HMV. Now situated in the larger two-story shopping mall, customers can find Bliss Beds across from Costa Coffee. The unit formerly housed Curated Aberdeen, which has moved next door to the former Warehouse unit.

Founded in Dundee in 2018, Bliss Beds specialises in bespoke beds, premium mattresses, and bedroom furniture such as cabinets and dressing tables, all at what the company describes as “unbeatable prices.” The firm now operates three stores across Scotland, including the Aberdeen branch, with other locations in the Wellgaste Centre, Dundee, and the Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy.

Expansion and Customer Demand

Bliss Beds first came to Aberdeen last year with a branch in the St Nicholas Centre. The move was prompted by staff noticing that many customers at the Dundee store had travelled from the Granite City. The new Bon Accord branch features the firm’s tartan-themed highland cow in the window, and a “sneak preview” was shared on the retailer’s official Facebook page ahead of the grand opening.

In a voiceover, a Bliss Beds employee told shoppers: “Just to show you a wee sneak preview of our new Aberdeen store. You'll be familiar with this store and this area. We're now located in the Bon Accord Centre.”

Other Retail Changes in Aberdeen

The arrival of Bliss Beds follows the recent opening of a Charlotte Tilbury counter in the Bon Accord Centre’s Boots store. Located on the ground floor, the counter offers over 500 bestselling products, including the iconic Magic Cream and Pillow Talk range, along with personalised beauty advice and bookable one-to-one services.

However, Aberdeen is set to lose its only Persian rug store, Desert Rug Gallery, located on Schoolhill just outside the shopping centre. Owner Niaz Ali has confirmed the store will close on July 18 due to “sourcing issues.” Closing down notices in the window read: “All stock reduced! Store closing. Everything must go!”
