As the annual shopping extravaganza approaches, Black Friday presents the perfect opportunity to finally invest in those big-ticket items you've been eyeing. From cutting-edge technology and stylish homewares to the latest fashion and beauty tech, November sees significant price reductions across the board.
While many retailers have already launched early sales, the most coveted deals are often reserved for the final week of November. Drawing on seven years of experience covering Black Friday and Amazon sales events, I've honed an instinct for predicting which discounts will emerge. I've already identified some fantastic offers on proven home products, but I anticipate even more are on the horizon.
Home & Appliance Deals Worth Waiting For
Last year, I secured a Smeg range cooker from AO's Black Friday sale, saving nearly £200. However, with seven Black Fridays under my belt, I know brands frequently stagger their best offers. I recommend keeping a close watch on the Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum. Currently not discounted at AO, I expect its price to drop before month's end.
This highly capable vacuum offers features like laser navigation, mapping, mopping, and up to 120 minutes of runtime – specifications often found in models costing twice as much. We're hopeful for a discount in the coming week.
Another product to hold out for is the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1. This is Dyson's latest air quality technology, providing heating in winter, cooling in summer, and advanced air purification – ideal for dust-prone households. If you want premium performance, waiting for a discount is wise.
Carpet cleaners are also hugely popular this year. While Vax has already slashed up to £170 off much of its floorcare range, some models remain at full price. If your desired model isn't currently on offer, I suggest patience, as more are likely to be discounted. Current standout offers include the VAX ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet cordless vacuum, saving over £100, and the VAX SpotWash Duo Spot Cleaner for under £100.
Fashion, Beauty Tech & Mattress Discounts
In the mattress sector, Panda and Emma Sleep have started their Black Friday campaigns. Simba is currently running a Black November giveaway, offering free bedding with selected purchases. Based on previous years, I expect Simba to discount its most popular mattresses before November concludes.
Keep an eye on the Simba Hybrid Pro mattress, which currently comes with complimentary bedding worth £616, and the highly-reviewed but pricey Simba Hybrid pillow. I suspect both will see direct price cuts soon.
For luxury travel, Carl Fredrick's Black Friday sale begins with early access on Friday, 21st November, going fully live on Monday, 24th November. I'm personally hoping for a significant discount on the Ashley Tote in Cognac from their Heritage collection.
Royal-approved fashion is another area to watch. John Lewis has started early with discounts on cashmere, but for a true royal staple, monitor Boden. A favourite of the Princess of Wales, items like the Diane Pointelle jumper in various colours could see discounts. The John Lewis cashmere crew neck, a gorgeous lightweight design, is already a great find.
In beauty, top-of-the-range Dyson hair tools are the products to watch. While some non-Black Friday deals exist, Dyson has traditionally reduced prices on its hero products closer to the event. I advise waiting for better deals on the Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer and the Dyson Airwrap i.d. multi-styler and dryer.
Tech Deals & What to Avoid
Amazon has yet to launch its official Black Friday sale, but I anticipate mega-discounts on its own devices, including the Amazon Echo, Amazon Dot, and Kindles. These are items you should not buy yet but should bookmark, as they tend to sell out quickly once discounted.
I also expect a substantial discount on the Apple AirPods Max, currently priced at £517 and mostly out of stock. They have previously been reduced by over £100, so holding out is recommended.
However, it's crucial to be discerning. While there are deals for everyone, some brands use Black Friday to clear end-of-line stock. Before purchasing a coffee machine, air fryer, or any tech, check its original release date. Older products might seem like a bargain, but replacement parts can become scarce, and software support is often discontinued.
