Shoppers can buy the Livio Electric Heated Blanket for £27 at Yimbly, reduced from £39.99, using the code AUTUMN10. The retailer, owned by Reach Plc, which also owns this publication, is offering the discount as consumers look for ways to stay warm indoors without turning on central heating following Ofgem's energy price cap increase this month.
The blanket is priced at £33.99 on Amazon, making the Yimbly deal cheaper. It comes in the shade 'Sand', a neutral beige, and the manufacturer claims it costs 4p per hour to operate, based on an average electricity unit rate of 26.32p/kWh under the Ofgem energy price cap for October to December 2026.
Features and Customer Feedback
The electric blanket offers nine heat levels and a one- to nine-hour timer with automatic shut-off. A digital controller displays time and temperature options and can be removed, allowing the blanket to be machine washed, a feature useful for households with pets or children.
Customers have shared positive reviews on Yimbly and Amazon. One purchaser said: "Was very surprised at how fast the delivery arrived. Also the blanket seemed very soft and smooth." Another wrote: "I have a couple of other electric blankets. The Livivo from Yimbly is the best. Good settings - even on 'low' the whole of the blanket warms up. Others are patchy. Very soft fabric and good length plug wire. Very good value."
Mixed Reviews and Alternatives
Some buyers expressed concerns. One Amazon customer noted difficulty with the switch, commenting: "Big disappointment that to turn on the switch is at the side of the controller instead of press button on the front. As I have arthritis in my fingers I find it difficult to turn on." Another praised the blanket, saying: "So I decided to invest in this and it is the best invention ever, it gets amazingly warm, and not just a luke warm, the highest setting is really hot (a safe hot, not dangerous) and it keeps me wonderfully cosy on my sofa which gets me out of bed. My cats love it, I love it, and my nephew's been stealing it for his room when he's gaming to keep warm, so I bought him another one."
For those preferring a cordless option, Silentnight's Heat Genie Self Heating Giant Blanket at £34.99 from Amazon uses a heat-reflecting foil layer instead of electricity. While it takes longer to warm up, it costs nothing to operate once purchased. One customer remarked: "Love this heated blanket, my partner bought it for me as he wont allow the heating on as it's too expensive. Thank goodness for this, I use it all the time in winter. It's a good size and lovely and soft and is very cheap to run."
