Aldi's £20 Wellness Lamp Could Beat Winter Blues for Two Million

Supermarket chain Aldi is set to launch a new gadget that could help combat the winter blues for millions of Britons. The portable Wellness Lamp, priced at £19.99, is designed to simulate morning sunshine, naturally boosting energy and improving sleep quality.

The lamp, which will be available in stores from January 25th, aims to help with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression that affects around two million people in the UK each year. It offers adjustable colour temperature settings, from warmer tones for relaxation to cooler tones for increased focus during work.

According to Aldi, the lamp will 'bring the warmth of summer sun to even the bleakest winter mornings'. It can be set to run for up to an hour before automatically switching off. The product is significantly cheaper than similar devices on the market.

SAD is linked to reduced daylight in winter, and symptoms include depression, lethargy, and irritability. The NHS advises that anyone experiencing these symptoms should consult a GP. The Aldi Wellness Lamp will be available in stores while stocks last.
