Aldi's Middle Aisle Christmas Shake-Up: Key Dates for Bargain Hunters
Aldi changes middle aisle schedule for Christmas

Aldi has announced a significant temporary change to the schedule of its beloved middle aisle, a move forced by the Christmas calendar that will affect bargain hunters across the UK.

Why the Middle Aisle Schedule is Changing

The supermarket's famous Specialbuys, which normally refresh every Thursday, face disruption because Christmas Day falls on a Thursday this year. This has prompted bosses to implement a revised timetable to ensure shoppers can still access new deals after the festivities.

An Aldi spokesperson confirmed the new plan: "The next Specialbuy release is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, so we’ll see new stock landing after the Christmas period." They added that for the following week, new offers will land on Friday, January 2, and Sunday, January 4.

With no further bank holiday interruptions, the regular weekly Specialbuy cycle is set to resume from Thursday, January 8. Customers are advised to check Aldi's website for the latest updates on planned releases.

What Shoppers Can Find in the Aisle of Wonder

The first post-Christmas Specialbuy drop on December 28 will focus on cleaning and storage, perfectly timed for the post-holiday tidy-up. Key items will include a 42L Touch Bin for £12.99, a Spray Mop Set at £9.99, and Hotel Collection Reed Diffusers for £2.49 each in scents like Coconut and Vanilla.

For those needing to conquer the Christmas clutter, the aisle will be stocked with storage solutions starting from just £4.99. Highlights include a 42L Underbed Storage box for £4.99, an 80L Storage Box for £5.99, and a 4-Drawer Tower for £12.99 to organise everything from toys to towels.

Store Closures and Extended Hours

These Specialbuy changes coincide with Aldi's confirmed store closures over the festive break. All UK Aldi stores will be shut for three days: on Christmas Day (December 25), Boxing Day (December 26), and New Year's Day (January 1).

Rebecca Heley, Communications Director at Aldi UK, explained the decision: "Christmas is a special time, and we want to ensure all of our colleagues have the opportunity to relax and enjoy it with their loved ones. That's why all Aldi stores will be closed on Boxing Day this year."

In the lead-up to Christmas, many stores will operate extended opening hours to help customers prepare. Shoppers are urged to check online for specific times at their local branch.
