A star from the hit Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm has hinted at a possible return to the show, after revealing she quit her nursing job to focus on television and social media projects.
Harriet Cowan, who appeared as a temporary farmhand in the fourth series while Kaleb Cooper was on tour, left the show in May last year. However, speaking on the Fed by Farmers podcast, the 24-year-old from Derbyshire said she has since given up nursing because she was being recognised by patients.
“I’ve given up nursing because I was going into people’s houses and I was getting recognised as that girl off the telly,” she explained. “I was supposed to be there as a professional nurse – there were people dying at the end of the day.”
Cowan added that juggling social media, nursing, farming and brand deals became too stressful, and that her nursing salary of £34,000 a year was not worth the pressure when she could earn more through social media. “How many other people can say they can give that up at 24, to give up their job and go into full time farming which is all I’ve ever wanted to do?” she said.
When asked directly if she would be returning for the fifth series of Clarkson's Farm, Cowan teased: “I’m not allowed to say, you’ll have to see. It’s top secret.” She also revealed she has “a few new TV things coming off” and is working with Aldi on a British beef campaign.
Clarkson's Farm season five is set to premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday 3 June, with episodes released weekly. The synopsis teases that Jeremy Clarkson will implement big changes amid a government budget that upsets the farming community.
