A popular organic ice cream brand has issued a recall across 17 states due to the potential presence of metal fragments in its products. Straus Family Creamery, based in California, announced the recall on Thursday for select flavors of its Organic Super Premium Ice Cream, citing the risk of metal foreign material in the packaging.
Affected Flavors and States
The recall includes six flavors: Dutch Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, and Mint Chip, available in pint and quart sizes. The affected states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Company Response
No injuries have been reported as of Thursday. The company stated that food safety and product quality remain top priorities, and the recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution. Straus Family Creamery is working with retailers to remove potentially impacted products from shelves and has implemented corrective actions.
Consumers who purchased any of the recalled ice cream are urged not to consume it and to dispose of it immediately. The company is offering a voucher for a replacement tub through a form on its website.
