London Gatwick Airport has issued a reminder that passengers using its designated drop-off zones must pay the charge by midnight the day after use, or face a £100 fine. The fine is reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
The airport's website states: "Failing to pay on time will result in a Parking Charge Notice of £100, which is reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days." Payments must be made after exiting the drop-off zone so that Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems can calculate the correct fee.
Drop-Off Charges and Rules
The drop-off charges are: £10 for 10 minutes, £1 for each additional minute up to 20 minutes. There is a maximum daily charge of £30 and a maximum stay of 30 minutes. For longer stays, Gatwick recommends using Short Stay car parks or the Long Stay car parks, which offer two hours free parking with a free shuttle bus to terminals.
Passengers are advised to set up AutoPay accounts before entering the drop-off zone to ensure automatic debit. Failure to pay on time results in the penalty charge.
