Manchester City have been active in the summer transfer window, spending over £150m on four new signings while overseeing 11 player departures. The club's business is not yet complete as manager Enzo Maresca continues to shape his squad.
Big-money arrivals
The marquee signing is Elliot Anderson, who arrived from Nottingham Forest in a £116m deal. Other permanent additions include Mathys Detourbet (£21.5m), Pierce Charles (£3m rising to a potential £10m), and Jeremy Monga (£10m rising to a potential £12.5m). Total spending has already surpassed £150m.
Notable exits
Several high-profile players have left the Etihad. John Stones and Bernardo Silva departed after their contracts expired, along with Ashton Muir and Ezra Carrington. In terms of sales, Manuel Akanji made his move to Inter Milan permanent for £13m, Nathan Ake joined Fenerbahce for £7m (rising to £8.5m), Jahmai Simpson-Pusey moved to FC Koln for £4.7m (rising to £6.4m), and Isaac Smith joined Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
Loan departures
Temporary exits include Oliver Whatmuff moving to Stockport County, though he will remain with City during pre-season to bolster goalkeeping ranks. Sverre Nypan has joined Lommel on loan, and new signing Mathys Detourbet has been loaned to AS Monaco.
According to club sources, further transfer activity is expected before the window closes as Maresca fine-tunes his squad for the upcoming campaign.
