To qualify for a replacement appliance, applicants must be customers of E.ON Next or Sainsbury's Energy. Eligibility is assessed based on a combination of financial and health-related circumstances. The fund is managed by Charis, who oversees the application process.
For those seeking help with energy bills, a three-month Provisional Award Scheme is required. During this period, E.ON suspends any existing debt, and if the customer maintains payments, the debt is settled in full. Failure to keep up with payments results in the withdrawal of the award and the reinstatement of the debt.
E.ON advises applicants to seek financial advice before applying, to ensure they are receiving all benefits and to negotiate with other creditors. Supporting evidence, such as proof of income or benefits, must be less than three months old, except for annual benefit letters from the Department for Work and Pensions.
