In a remarkable display of corporate generosity, a supercar driving experience company in Las Vegas has distributed a staggering $350,000 in bonuses to its workforce following an exceptionally profitable year.
Defying the Downturn with High-Octane Thrills
Speed Vegas, located in Southern Las Vegas, enjoyed a record number of customers in 2025, directly contradicting the wider slump in the city's visitor numbers. According to company figures shared with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, each of the firm's 120 employees received a bonus of up to $10,000.
This success is particularly striking given the challenging local context. Las Vegas tourism fell for ten consecutive months in 2025, hitting new lows in November. Despite this, Speed Vegas reported a seven percent increase in riders over the past year.
Chief Executive Romain Thievin attributed the company's performance to its sharp focus on delivering what modern tourists seek. "Guests are looking for immersive, authentic experiences, and we deliver that every day with the best cars in the world," Thievin stated. He emphasised that the record year was "driven by our team, and we wanted them to share in that success."
Expansion and a Focus on Professionalism
Founded in 2009, Speed Vegas merged with another supercar experience provider, Exotics Racing, in 2021. Since the merger, Thievin has concentrated on elevating the customer experience to a more professional level while maintaining safety as the paramount concern.
The company, now a well-established destination for locals and tourists alike, serves roughly 200,000 customers annually with a fleet of 70 luxury vehicles. This impressive collection includes models from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren.
The most sought-after car in their lineup is the Ferrari 488, which retails for between $200,000 and $400,000. With the business thriving, Thievin has confirmed plans for further growth and expansion.
Beyond supercar drives, Speed Vegas also operates an outdoor go-kart track and a one-mile off-road dirt track for Baja truck adventures. For those who prefer not to drive, a ride-along option is available to customers as young as 11.
A Generous Gesture Against a Challenging National Backdrop
The scale and inclusivity of the bonus payments are noteworthy not just locally, but nationally. The act of generosity comes amid a weak labour market and a broader decline in the number of workers receiving year-end bonuses in recent years.
While the U.S. unemployment rate was 4.6% in November 2025—the highest since September 2021—hiring has been notably sluggish. A Bankrate report highlighted that only 119,000 jobs were created in September 2025, far below the expected 264,000.
Economist Sarah Foster noted that hiring is so low it historically correlates with an unemployment rate closer to seven percent, making job-seeking exceptionally difficult.
Furthermore, a December study by payroll firm ADP found the proportion of workers receiving bonuses has slipped since the pandemic. In December 2024, just under 40% of employees analysed received a bonus, down from 44% in 2021. Typically, such rewards are reserved for senior or high-earning staff, making Speed Vegas's across-the-board payments to all 120 workers an exceptionally generous move.
