Kate Winslet Replaces Pool with Gym at Farmhouse

Kate Winslet, known for her iconic role in Titanic where she endured being weighted down underwater, is making significant changes to her 18th-century farmhouse in West Sussex. The Oscar-winning actress, 50, is replacing the basement pool with a gym, reflecting her love for power yoga. The underground changing room will remain, but she is adding a new glass door to the sauna, new basement steps, converting a family bathroom into an en-suite bedroom, and demolishing a kitchen wall and a playroom built a decade ago. Two rotting second-floor windows are also being replaced.

Sea Defences and Outdoor Amenities

Winslet previously constructed a 500-foot sea wall to protect the property, purchased for £3.25 million in 2013, from high-tide flooding. Despite these changes, she remains devoted to outdoor swimming and her local sailing club. Over the years, she has added an outdoor pool, pool house, outdoor kitchen, barbecue, and wood-burning stove.
