Justin Bieber has been confirmed as one of the co-headliners for the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. However, the BBC will not air the performance, opting instead to focus on first-half analysis. ITV is expected to follow a similar approach.
Lineup and Broadcast Details
The 11-minute halftime spectacular will feature Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and Coldplay alongside Bieber. According to The Times, the BBC will stick to its usual format of pre-game analysis, first-half coverage, halftime analysis, and second-half action, bypassing the show entirely.
Charity and Education Fund
All proceeds from the halftime show will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise £74.5 million ($100 million) to expand access to quality education and football for children worldwide. The fund has already collected over £37.4 million ($50 million), with $1 from every ticket sold for FIFA World Cup 2026 matches being donated throughout the tournament, according to the Mirror US.
Bieber's Statement and Fan Reaction
Bieber, personally selected for the honor, said: "The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I'm grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it's already helping expand access to education for children around the world." Fans reacted enthusiastically on Instagram, with one writing, "Yes! Do your thing bro!" and another exclaiming, "THANK YOU, MY LORD JESUS CHRIST. NOW ANNOUNCE THE TOUR."
Bieber's Recent Activity and Health
The performance follows Bieber's appearance at the World Cup opening ceremony and his support for Canada's team on Instagram, where he posted a picture of the team badge with a caption requesting prayers. This marks Bieber's first stage performance since Coachella, after stepping back from touring due to health issues including Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. His last full-scale tour was the Justice World Tour in 2022.
