Woman arrested for razor blades in Walmart bread

Police in Biloxi, Mississippi, have arrested a woman accused of a disturbing campaign of food tampering at local Walmart stores. Camille Benson, a 33-year-old from Texas, faces a charge of attempted mayhem after allegedly inserting razor blades and a fishing hook into packaged bread and muffins.

Surveillance Footage Leads to Arrest

The Biloxi Police Department took Benson into custody on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. Her arrest followed a public appeal in which investigators released surveillance images of a woman, later identified as Benson, exiting a Walmart store. Authorities stated they received a tip-off that she had been seen in the 1000 block of Division Street, leading directly to her apprehension.

She is currently being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. A judge has set her bond at $100,000.

A Series of Disturbing Discoveries

The alarming incidents began to surface at the start of December. According to police reports, the first complaint came from a customer on 5 December. The individual reported finding a razor blade inside a loaf of bread purchased from a Walmart in Biloxi.

This was not an isolated case. A second complaint was filed on 8 December, with several more emerging in the days that followed. The reports expanded to include muffins found to contain razor blades. Store employees, alerted to the initial problems, conducted their own checks and discovered evidence of tampering on packaging, indicating the sharp objects had been pushed into the products from the outside.

Police Investigation and Public Warning

The affected locations were identified as the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer Sr Drive and the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road in Biloxi. Authorities, citing the Associated Press, said they do not believe any other Walmart stores were targeted.

The Biloxi Police Department has issued a direct warning to the public. They are urging anyone who purchased bakery items from these specific Biloxi Walmart locations to carefully inspect their loaves and report any concerning findings immediately.

In response to the crisis, Walmart released a statement emphasising that customer safety is a top priority. The retail giant confirmed it had removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products from the impacted Biloxi stores. The company is cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation.

Walmart has also advised customers who believe a bakery product from Biloxi has been interfered with to discard it immediately and visit their local store for a full refund. Police have not yet determined a motive for the alleged acts.
