TUI Airways' little-known Cheap Flights page offers return tickets from as little as £30, even during the school summer holidays, providing a budget-friendly option for families willing to be flexible on destination. The page lists unbooked or returned seats at discounted prices, often on last-minute dates, as the airline seeks to fill remaining capacity.
How the Cheap Flights Page Works
Simply enter your desired travel dates and departure airports to see a list of the cheapest destinations. The more flexible you are with dates and airports, the better the deals. Midweek departures and choosing a slightly farther airport can further reduce costs.
Baggage Allowance and Seating
Unlike many cheap flight deals, TUI Airways flight-only tickets include two pieces of hand luggage per adult and child: one small personal item (max 40x30x20cm) and one 10kg bag (max 55x40x20cm). Checked bags and seat selection cost extra. TUI ensures children under 12 are seated with at least one adult in the booking, though they may be across an aisle or in front.
Sample Deals from Scotland and England
From Scotland, a Glasgow to Reus fare is £70, departing July 11 and returning July 25. For England and Wales, a Bournemouth to Ibiza return costs £70 from July 18 to 29, and London Gatwick to Split, Croatia is £128 return from July 20 to 27. Seats are extremely limited and sell out quickly.
Expert Advice on Total Costs
A family travel advisor at Lapland Famille warned: 'A very low flight price can be a brilliant find, but families need to look at the whole trip before booking. If the cheapest option means difficult flight times, separate seats, extra baggage costs or a long transfer with tired children, the saving can disappear quickly. The best-value holiday is usually the one where the total cost, timing and stress level all work for the family.'
TUI operates from more than 20 UK airports to over 100 destinations, including short-haul spots like Spain, Greece, and Italy, and long-haul routes to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Thailand. Flight search aggregators like Skyscanner can also help find deals by selecting 'everywhere' as the destination.
