The Nylabone Dura Chew comes in small, large or extra large for dogs up to 50lbs. It is chicken-flavoured but leaves no splinters, grease or stains, and its textures promote fresh breath and clean teeth. The testers tried their best but the toy lasted and lasted. Advice is to scuff the smooth surfaces with a fork to release the flavour, and it rinses clean under warm water.
Handmade from recycled cotton, the Moshimo tug toy is machine washable, biodegradable, compostable and recyclable. Its vibrant colour makes it an attractive version of a popular style, and the recycled cotton is gentle on human hands. It did not come undone or fray even after hours of play with the three dogs.
The iFetch iDig is made from natural rubber with three programmable settings and a light-up centre. It can be programmed to roll, bounce and jiggle, and the light changes colour to attract attention during the chase. It has automatic obstacle avoidance and is silent when on, charging fast. Safe for teeth and easy to clean.
Also notable are the P.L.A.Y. Treat Ball, a toy and treat dispenser with extra strong elastic rubber that is bite-resistant, and a handmade foraging toy from Essex made from recycled fabrics with a rubber mat that grips varnished wood floors. The treat ball comes in three sizes and can be used with a ball-thrower.
