Tesco 5% off fuel: spend £60 in store before Sunday

Tesco is giving shoppers a boost by offering drivers 5% off the cost of filling their fuel tank when they spend £60 in store. Customers will receive a coupon to save 5% off diesel and unleaded petrol when they spend £60 in a single in-store transaction before Sunday, August 16.

Coupon details and redemption

The coupon, which is currently worth as much as 8p off a litre of fuel, is redeemable at Tesco-branded forecourts across the UK until Sunday August 23. Tesco operates more than 500 filling stations across the UK and offering a discount on the price of fuel is just one way in which Tesco is helping its customers this summer.

The supermarket also recently launched Freebie Thursdays, giving away millions of coupons for free products to Clubcard members, alongside extending its Kids Eat Free offer at The Café at Tesco. Earlier this year, the retailer expanded its Aldi Price Match scheme into more than 2,000 Tesco Express convenience stores.

Clubcard vouchers and rewards

Tesco has also revealed that more than half a million shoppers have more than £100 in unused Clubcard vouchers. The supermarket released the figures to encourage shoppers to check on the rewards available to them. In addition to more than 500,000 shoppers with more than £100 of Clubcard vouchers in their accounts, there are more than 95,000 shoppers with a hefty £200 or more.

Tesco Clubcard offers more than 100 Reward Partners, with Clubcard vouchers worth up to triple value with some of them, meaning Clubcard members could be sitting on even more value when it comes to rewards. Dubbed "Know what you’re sitting on", Tesco's campaign highlights what it describes as one of Clubcard’s lesser-known benefits: the ability to exchange vouchers for rewards across holidays, dining and family days out.

Tesco said around half a million Clubcard members currently have at least £100 available to spend with its Reward Partners. The company has brought that figure to life through three films, each representing a different type of Clubcard reward.

Tesco UK marketing director Murray Bisschop said: “We know how easy it is for customers to focus on the great value that Clubcard Prices deliver and not notice their points and vouchers mounting up. “We wanted to remind Clubcard members that the vouchers they are sitting on could be turned into big savings on holidays, meals out or days out.”
