Families across the UK have the chance to create some festive magic for their children by sending a letter to Santa Claus for as little as 87p, with the option to receive a reply in accessible formats like braille and British Sign Language.
How to Get a Reply from Father Christmas
Financial advice website Money Saving Expert (MSE), co-founded by Martin Lewis, has issued a timely reminder about the affordable service. While some private companies charge up to £10 for a response from Santa, Royal Mail offers a reply for the price of a stamp.
This means you can send your letter second-class for 87p or opt for first-class post at £1.70. The service ensures every child can join in the festive fun without putting a strain on the family budget.
Important Deadline and Accessibility Features
Parents and guardians need to act quickly, as the deadline for sending letters is Wednesday, December 10. This gives Santa and his elves enough time to read the post and prepare their responses before the big day.
In a welcome move for inclusivity, Royal Mail has confirmed that children can receive replies in braille by emailing santamail@royalmail.com. Furthermore, in a new addition for this year, a British Sign Language (BSL) reply can also be arranged by sending a request to the same email address.
Santa's Address and Final Festive Tips
To ensure your letter reaches the North Pole, it must be clearly addressed to: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.
Royal Mail emphasises the importance of including a stamp on the envelope. They also advise writing your full name and address on the back of the envelope so Santa knows where to send his reply.
In a festive statement, Santa shared his excitement: "I'm looking forward to delivering your presents on Christmas Eve. Make sure you remember my mince pie and Rudolph's carrot!" He added that it's a very exciting but busy time, with the elves making toys and the reindeer practising their sleigh runs, but he will try to reply to as many letters as possible.
