I tried a £135 Côte At Home Christmas dinner - here's my verdict
Michelin-starred chef's £135 Christmas dinner reviewed

As Christmas approaches, many households face the annual dilemma of creating the perfect festive meal while managing chaotic preparations. However, a new solution has emerged from the kitchens of Côte Brasserie that promises restaurant-quality dining with minimal effort.

The Ultimate Festive Feast Experience

I recently sampled Côte At Home's Festive Turkey Feast, priced at £134.95 and designed to generously serve six people. Developed by Michelin-starred chef Steve Allen, whose impressive background includes stints at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Pétrus and Claridge's, this luxurious offering brings French flair and fine-dining expertise directly to your doorstep.

The comprehensive package features marinated British turkey breast sourced from Larchwood Farm, accompanied by honey-glazed pigs in blankets, Brussels sprouts à la Française, apricot and mustard glazed Chantenay carrots, and roast miso parsnips with shallot and thyme jus. Everything arrives ready for the oven with detailed cooking instructions, making the entire process remarkably straightforward.

Standout Dishes and Minor Adjustments

The star of the show was undoubtedly the succulent turkey breast, which delivered exceptional flavour and texture. Similarly, the pigs in blankets received top marks, while the roast potatoes achieved that perfect balance of crispy exterior and fluffy interior that everyone desires at Christmas.

Having tested the complete meal with just my partner, we found it provided ample portions for three full days of dining, confirming that it easily serves six people as promised. The Brussels sprouts à la Française proved particularly delicious, showcasing the French influence that sets this festive spread apart.

My only suggested improvement would be to add slightly more butter to the parsnips, though this represents a minor personal preference rather than a significant flaw in an otherwise outstanding meal.

Beyond Turkey: Alternative Festive Options

For those seeking something different from traditional turkey, Côte At Home offers The Chateaubriand Feast at £164.95, featuring a succulent 1kg cut with all the classic trimmings. Vegetarians aren't forgotten either, with the new Tartiflette Feast for four priced at £49.95, combining melted Camembert and shredded Fable mushrooms with spiced braised red cabbage.

The celebration extends to starters and desserts, including delicately smoked beetroot-cured salmon (£14.95), rich chicken liver pâté (£8.95), Côte Christmas pudding (£14.95) and golden brandy butter madeleines (£11.95). For post-celebration mornings, the Festive Breakfast Box at £67.95 includes croissants, jams, granola, sausages, bacon, eggs and Crémant de Bourgogne bubbles.

Executive chef Steve Allen has crafted what he describes as "generous and joyful" offerings that have attracted celebrity fans including Dame Judi Dench, who reportedly "can't get enough" of these indulgent, easy-to-cook French feasts.
