British skincare brand Medik8 has ushered in the new year with a significant product launch, introducing its Niacinamide Peptides serum. This new offering, which became available on 6th January 2026, replaces the fan-favourite Clarity Peptides, promising superior results for a clearer, smoother complexion.
Science-Backed Formula for Visible Results
The core of the new serum is a 10% niacinamide complex, a concentration celebrated for addressing concerns like excess oil, congestion, and enlarged pores. The formula is bolstered by additional active ingredients designed for multi-tasking efficacy.
It contains 3% Crystalide, a peptide targeted at renewing radiance, and N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG), a gentle exfoliant that works without acids to remove dead skin cells. To further combat blemishes, 1% zinc helps regulate sebum production, while hyaluronic acid ensures the skin is left plump and hydrated, not stripped.
Medik8 states the product is ultra-gentle, non-comedogenic, and in clinical studies improved the skin barrier health by 34%. The brand recommends using the milky serum morning and/or evening after cleansing, with the 30ml pump bottle providing approximately 80 uses.
Clinical Trials and Consumer Feedback
Independent studies conducted by Medik8 provide a data-driven backing for the serum's claims. In a four-week trial involving 30 participants, visible redness was reportedly reduced within just seven days.
Separate clinical and consumer studies on 83 people indicated a 26% reduction in visible pore size and a 35% reduction in visible blemishes after one month of consistent use.
Early adopters have been quick to share their experiences. One reviewer described it as "a must for clear, even skin", noting that while the texture can feel slightly sticky initially, it absorbs well and leaves a smoother, clearer finish, even on the chest. Another user with combination, sensitive skin praised its lightweight feel and how it layers seamlessly with other products.
Perhaps the most glowing endorsement came from a customer who called it a "reset for my stressed, congested face", reporting that stress-induced redness and congestion diminished within days for a more luminous and calm appearance. A minority of users noted only a slight calming effect, highlighting that results can vary.
Market Position and Brand Strategy
With this launch, Medik8 has consciously retired its Clarity Peptides formula. Hannah Biggerstaff, Medik8’s Head of Product, explained that Niacinamide Peptides builds upon the legacy of its predecessor while delivering "next-level efficacy" for glass-like skin.
Peptides remain a cornerstone of Medik8's scientific approach, featuring in other products like their Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream and Liquid Peptides Advanced MP. In the wider premium beauty market, peptide-focused serums often command high prices, such as SkinCeuticals' P-TIOX serum at £130 or Victoria Beckham Beauty's Power Serum at £116.
This positions Medik8's new entry at £49 as a more accessible option. New customers can currently obtain a 15% discount on their first order, bringing the price down to £41.65. The serum is available for purchase directly through the Medik8 website.
