A homeowner has shared her frustration online after her neighbour demanded she move a newly installed garden fence, claiming it ruined her view. The fence was put up to keep her dog safe, but the neighbour's request has sparked debate.
The dispute unfolds
The woman, who posted on Reddit, explained that she had a survey done and the fence was entirely on her property line. Her neighbour asked her to move it back about six feet so she could see the trees from her kitchen window. The homeowner refused, saying that moving it would give the neighbour six feet of her yard for free.
The neighbour argued that she had lived there for 15 years and considered the view 'basically hers'. The homeowner laughed at this and said no.
Neighbour's behaviour escalates
Since the refusal, the neighbour has allegedly thrown leaves and branches over the fence twice and was caught trying to peek over with a step ladder. When confronted, she accused the homeowner of being selfish.
Seeking advice, the woman asked Reddit users what they would do. Responses included recording the neighbour and calling the city, suggesting the neighbour move her kitchen window, and using a water hose as a deterrent.
