Evri Driver Ruins Christmas for Boy, 9, by Putting £50 Present in Bin
Evri driver bins boy's Christmas present

A nine-year-old boy's Christmas was destroyed after a delivery driver for Evri decided the household wheelie bin was the appropriate place to leave a precious parcel.

Doorbell Camera Captures Shocking Moment

The heart-wrenching incident unfolded at the family home in Bransgore. Louis Tremblay, who is obsessed with the US YouTuber Andymation, had asked for just one thing: a special flipbook kit costing over £50. His relatives in America purchased it and arranged for shipping to the UK.

After waiting weeks for the gift to arrive, his parents, Lauren and Adam, grew concerned. They checked with their family, who confirmed the tracking showed it as delivered on December 8.

Reviewing their video doorbell footage for that date, the couple watched in horror. The clip showed the Evri delivery driver walking up their path, opening the lid of their bin near the front door, placing the parcel inside, and walking away without ringing the bell or leaving a notification card.

A Devastating Discovery and Failed Delivery

"We were horrified," said Lauren. "He never rang the doorbell, and didn't put a card in. We had no idea it was in there." The devastating truth was that a few days later, the bin was collected by the council, taking Louis's only Christmas wish with it.

"We broke the news to Louis and he was in floods of tears," his mother explained. "He was devastated." The family immediately tried to contact the delivery firm for an explanation and resolution.

Frustrating Aftermath and Sold-Out Gift

Their efforts to get answers from Evri hit a brick wall. Adam was told the tracking number was invalid when he called and emailed. While the US family have been refunded and a complaint has been lodged, the situation remains unresolved for Louis.

The crux of the matter is that the Andymation flipbook kit is now sold out and won't be available for reorder until the end of February, leaving the boy empty-handed.

Lauren expressed her utter bewilderment at the driver's actions: "I just can't understand why you would put a parcel in the bin. It could be collected that day for all you would know." The family are still hoping for a proper response from Evri regarding the delivery failure.
