For many households, the air fryer is a kitchen hero, but cleaning its greasy, grime-encrusted basket is a chore most dread. Lifestyle reporter Angela Patrone, who uses her dual-basket appliance several times a week, decided to tackle this problem head-on after letting both baskets reach a state of serious neglect.
The Tedious Task of Air Fryer Cleaning
Angela, a Senior Lifestyle Reporter, described the job as one of the most tedious imaginable. Her regular cooking of items like chicken, salmon, bacon, and jacket potatoes had left a stubborn layer of burnt-on grease. The usual tactic of switching between the two baskets had finally failed, and a deep clean was desperately needed.
Testing a Cleaner's Favourite
After hearing numerous cleaners and enthusiasts praise Fairy Skip the Soak for cutting through grease on ovens, hobs, and plates, Angela decided to put it to the ultimate test on her air fryer. The product, a concentrated formula reported by the Express to tackle stuck-on mess without soaking, promised an effortless solution.
She began by removing the grill tray inserts. After spraying the bottom of the baskets and the trays themselves, she immediately noticed the foamy spray beginning to turn brown, a clear sign the grease was already softening and dissolving. She did note, however, that the spray had a rather potent smell compared to standard washing-up liquids.
Five Minutes of Magic, Zero Scrubbing
Angela let the product work its magic for approximately five minutes. When she returned to rinse the components under water, she was taken aback. The built-up grease and grime simply washed away without the need for any scrubbing or even a sponge.
The results were strikingly effective with virtually no effort, especially considering the grease had been allowed to accumulate over time. After a thorough rinse and dry, the baskets were ready to be popped back into the appliance, looking as good as new.
Impressed by the success on her air fryer, Angela now plans to trial the same spray on other challenging kitchen areas, such as her extractor fan and oven, hoping for similarly effortless results.
