Royal Mail has issued a warning that residents in 44 postcodes across the UK may experience delays to their letters and parcels this weekend. The postal service cited local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing problems, and other local factors as reasons for the disruptions.
While Royal Mail's air and road network continues to operate normally, delays are anticipated across 25 local delivery offices. Affected areas include Banbury, Farnborough, and West Mersea, among others.
In a statement, Royal Mail said: 'We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.'
The company added that it will rotate deliveries to minimise delays for individual customers and provide targeted support to affected offices to restore normal service levels. Royal Mail apologised for any inconvenience caused.
