Aldi is bringing back its popular heated airers, with the Winged Heated Airer priced at £34.99 and the Upright Heated Airer at £79.99. The gadgets will be available in stores from Sunday, October 26, while stocks last. The supermarket claims the energy-efficient devices can dry clothes quickly and save households money on energy bills.
Using a heated airer instead of a tumble dryer can cut costs significantly. Drying a single load on a heated airer costs about 49p, compared to £1.02 for a tumble dryer, saving 53p per load. Annual savings could range from £25 to over £100, depending on household size and laundry frequency.
The Winged Heated Airer offers a large drying surface area, collapsible wings, and a 1.4m cable. Aldi says it provides a 50% saving compared to a similar Lakeland product priced at £69.99. The Upright Heated Airer is a foldable, compact solution with mesh shelves and a peg hanger, and is £20 cheaper than a comparable model from Dunelm.
Both airers come with a cover to retain warmth and are suitable for drying clothes, sheets, and towels quickly during winter. They are more energy-efficient than tumble dryers and gentle on materials, while also reducing household moisture.
