Aldi slashes prices on 330 products to help families this summer

Aldi is cutting prices on over 330 products across its UK stores this summer, investing an additional £100 million to reduce costs on everyday food and household goods.

From chilled and frozen favourites to pantry essentials, the reductions enable customers to save throughout their weekly shop. Among the most substantial savings are selected British steaks: the 21-Day Matured Sirloin Steak is now £4.49 (saving 80p) and the Ribeye Steak at £4.59. Fresh fruit has seen 40p off four-packs of nectarines and 22p off honeydew melons. The Specially Selected Cheddar range (350g) is now £2.99, a 40p saving. Diced Chicken Breast (600g) costs £3.99, reduced by 30p, and Filled Pasta is £2.19. Non-food items include Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion, now £2.99 from £3.29.

Summer Support Scheme and expansion

Beyond price cuts, Aldi has relaunched its Summer Support Scheme, giving away £50 grocery shops to families every day throughout July and August. Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: "It's never been more important that everyday grocery essentials and family favourites remain affordable. We're committed to keeping prices low on popular products because we know it can make a real difference, helping families to make the most of the summer."

These reductions mean Aldi has now lowered prices on more than 1,000 items in 2026, representing a total investment of £300 million. The supermarket also announced expansion plans, targeting 1,500 stores across Britain. It has identified 25 priority locations for new stores, including Ayr South, Blantyre, Canvey Island, Chaddesden, Cleethorpes, Croxteth, Exeter Central, Falkirk Central, Gateshead – Team Valley, Guildford, Harrogate, Hereford, Huddersfield, Leeds Horsforth Low Lane, Lincoln, Monmouth, Newcastle (Central), Oxford, Plymouth West, St Albans, Woking, Whitby, Warwick, Walthamstow, and Bath. The expansion will create jobs, and as Britain's top-paying supermarket, new branches could benefit communities. Aldi is set to invest over £370 million in new premises.
