Maresca's Man City Staff Confirmed: Seven New Coaches

Manchester City have confirmed seven new coaches will be joining Enzo Maresca at the Etihad Stadium. Maresca's right-hand man is expected to be Roberto Vitiello, who first met the Italian when they played together at Palermo.

Key Appointments and Background

After finishing his playing career, Vitiello became a technical coach at Serie A club Fiorentina. He would then go on to reunite with Maresca when the head coach took charge at Parma, Leicester and Chelsea. Since Maresca left Chelsea in January, Vitiello has been out of work.

Willy Caballero, a familiar face to City fans, is returning to the Etihad Stadium. The former goalkeeper made 48 appearances for the Blues between 2014 and 2017 before leaving to join Chelsea. Before moving to City, Caballero represented Malaga where he played alongside Maresca. After retiring in 2023, he went on to join Maresca at Leicester and then again at Chelsea.

Academy and Goalkeeping Expertise

Danny Walker also has a previous relationship with City having worked for the club's academy while Maresca was in charge. When Maresca joined Leicester, he brought Walker on board with him and also hired the coach when he was appointed Chelsea manager.

Michele De Bernardin joins as the club's new head of goalkeeping. He built his coaching pedigree in Italy and first worked with Maresca at Parma. De Bernardin chose to depart Sampdoria in 2023 to rejoin Maresca at Leicester and then followed the manager to Stamford Bridge.

Fitness and Technical Roles

Marcos Alvarez is the club's new fitness coach having worked with the likes of Real Madrid and Tottenham previously. He also worked with Maresca at Leicester and Chelsea.

Denis Silva joined Maresca for the first time at Chelsea and has previous experience working with the Barcelona academy. He arrives at the Etihad Stadium as a first-team coach.

Meanwhile, Javier Molina, who worked as an analyst at Atletico Madrid before joining Maresca at Leicester and Chelsea, arrives at the Blues in the same role.
