A British expat who has lived in Benidorm for 33 years has shared the best time to visit the popular Spanish resort to avoid "crowds" and "chaos". Geoff, who runs the social media account "Benidorm Resort Expert", advises tourists to skip the peak summer heat and instead visit during cooler periods.
Why Visit Benidorm in Cooler Weather?
Benidorm is known for its vibrant nightlife, golden beaches, and towering skyscrapers. But Geoff says the best experience comes when temperatures are milder. In a recent TikTok video, he noted that after three consecutive days of red alert heatwaves, the temperature dropped by five or six degrees, bringing a gentle breeze and calm seas. "No crowds, no chaos, no 40 degree heat bouncing off the pavement; just a calm morning, a bit of grounding, feet in the sand and literally the whole beach to myself," he said.
Record Visitor Numbers in 2025
According to the Visit Benidorm Foundation's annual report, the destination welcomed over three million visitors in 2025, a 7.7% increase from 2024. Overnight stays surpassed 16 million, up 3.4%, marking a historic high for the resort.
Geoff's Advice for Tourists
Geoff urged travelers to "forget the heatwave hype" and enjoy Benidorm at 24°C with glass-like seas and empty beaches. "This is when Benidorm is at its best," he added.
