Declassified Pentagon files have revealed a secret eyewitness account from the 1947 Roswell incident, describing an egg-shaped spaceship and dead child-sized alien bodies recovered by US military officials.
The dossier contains classified testimony from a military officer who says he was present during the legendary incident. The unnamed witness is widely believed to be base PR officer Walter G Haut, who signed a sealed affidavit in 2002 describing the bizarre wreckage and the creatures hidden inside a heavily guarded hangar known as "Building 84".
Witness Testimony Describes Otherworldly Craft
"I am convinced that what I personally observed was some type of craft and its crew from outer space," the witness said in the statement kept hidden for decades.
According to the files, the vessel was an egg-shaped metallic craft measuring up to 15ft long and 6ft wide. It had no wings, windows, landing gear or tail and was made of an unearthly foil described as "paper thin yet extremely strong." Nearby lay the pint-sized corpses of the extraterrestrial flight crew.
Details of the Recovered Bodies
"From a distance, I was able to see a couple of bodies under a canvas tarpaulin. Only the heads extended beyond the covering, and I was not able to make out any features," Haut said in a previous public statement.
"The heads did appear larger than normal and the contour of the canvas suggested the size of a ten year old child."
The latest papers claim high-ranking commanders held an emergency crisis meeting at 7.30am on July 8, 1947, passing around shards of the cosmic debris.
Official Cover-Up Allegations
"Samples of wreckage were passed around the table. It was unlike any material I had or have ever seen in my life. No one was able to identify the crash debris," the witness said.
Realising the world-shattering nature of the find, officials are claimed to have hatched a plan to dupe the public. While civilian eyes were fixated on a mess of wreckage found on a ranch northwest of Roswell, the egg craft and the dead space invaders were apparently secretly hauled away from a second site 40 miles north.
Base commander Colonel William Blanchard is then said to have ordered a decoy press release, famously announcing the military had captured a "flying disc" before swiftly walking it back and claiming it was merely a weather balloon. Base intelligence man Major Jesse Marcel was even pictured clutching tinfoil-like debris, which he later claimed had been swapped for weather kit while he was out of the room.
Additional Reports in the Release
The release also features reports from a private research firm funded by tycoon Robert Bigelow to study sci-fi military technology, from warp drives to cloaking shields. It states: "It is substantiated with testimony that several 'crashes' of novel spacecraft have occurred outside of the United States. Our concern addresses the level to which other countries have already succeeded in understanding the technical aspects of these craft."
The Pentagon release also dishes dirt on an eerie black triangle spotted over mountains in the western US by FBI spooks using thermal gear, as well as classic saucer sightings dating back to the 1950s.
