Splatoon Raiders finally has a release date, and it is arriving sooner than many anticipated. Initially unveiled last June, this single-player take on the beloved Splatoon multiplayer formula was loosely scheduled for 2026. However, a new trailer has confirmed that players can expect the game to launch on July 23, 2026.
Gameplay and Features Revealed
The latest trailer offers a much clearer glimpse into the gameplay experience. It opens with a character creator screen, allowing players to personalize their own Inkling. From there, players are dropped onto a series of islands where they can use their tools to battle a wide array of Salmonid enemies.
A description of the game reads: “Splat scores of enemies with colored ink and go treasure hunting in Splatoon Raiders, a new single-player-focused game! Play as a mechanic working with Deep Cut, a trio of swashbuckling musicians, and venture out into the mysterious Spirhalite Islands!”
“Customize your appearance, equip mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, and take on hordes of aggressive sea creatures called Salmonids in search of treasure.”
Exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2
Splatoon Raiders is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, meaning gamers on the original console will not be able to play it. This marks the first brand new Splatoon game since Splatoon 2 released in 2017. Although the Inklings have appeared in other games like Mario Kart and the live service has continued, the franchise has been somewhat on the backburner for Nintendo.
