Woman shares simple hack to shred chicken without forks

A woman named Marina Silva has shared a simple and mess-free method to shred chicken that she claims takes seconds and requires no forks or gadgets. The technique, which she posted on TikTok, involves placing warm chicken in a container and shaking it vigorously.

The hack revealed

In the video, Marina said she has been using the hack for the past six years. Instead of using a fork, she places large chunks of warm chicken into a sizeable plastic container, secures the lid, and shakes it vigorously. As she demonstrated, the chicken separates and shreds itself.

"It's good work out. Not gonna lie," she remarked once finished, before lifting the lid to display perfectly shredded chicken. "Look at this. Shredded chicken," she said. "You're welcome."

The video drew comments from viewers, with one writing: "I'm gonna have to get out of bed at 11pm to go COOK chicken to test this. BRB." Another commented: "I mean I just bought a chicken shredder but okay."

Others shared their own preferred techniques. While many said they bought specialist meat shredding gadgets, some claimed everyday kitchen tools could achieve the same result. "Just be using one of these. And I hate taking it out," one person revealed, sharing a photograph of an electric whisk. Another viewer recommended: "Once you get a KitchenAid you can just chuck it in there and it's amazing."

Why shred chicken?

Shredding chicken can be beneficial for dishes like chicken salad, chicken soup, or Chicken Véronique. While a single 85g serving of chicken breast contains about 24 to 26 grams of protein, it also provides B vitamins and essential minerals like selenium and zinc. Eating skinless, lean cuts of chicken has been proven to support muscle maintenance, aid weight management, and deliver vital micronutrients with fewer calories and lower saturated fat than many red meats.
